i feel motivated to make my own?

evangeline asked:

SWIMSUIT! but the problem is that i can’t find a single EASY pattern on the internet without having to buy it, seeing that i’m only 14. i want to make my own swimsuit by sewing, not knitting or crocheting. i have such a petite body (and a small bust =[ ) so i can never find a swimsuit that flatters my body. so if anyone could help me by telling me which swimsuit style flatters a 4 feet 10 inch body with a small bust and giving me a link to a nice and easy pattern i’d be extremely thankful.

p.s: should i sew thin foam pads into the bust? because i really **** it when my *ahem* ******* show through my swimsuit.

THANKS!!!

Check out Craftser.org they’ve got lots and lots of ideas there. Also the people on the board are always so nice and willing to help.

1st, definitly sew little foam pads in them. Some dudes can be really big perverts, have u tried stripes? Also, finding a color(s) that look good on u could help with ur problem.

Try checking for groups online who sew.. maybe someone will share a pattern with you. If not you may have to actually purchase one, but then again why would that be so bad, the patterns are that expensive, check out your local fabric/craft shop. And as for the ******* showing, it’s up to you, but the pattern may have some help there as well.

A 14 year old stylist? Go girl!

I think your best bet would be to go custom…you’re gonna have a hard time finding a pattern for your size. I’m 5′4″, 112 lbs (small bust, big butt) and can never, absolutely never, find a swimsuit (among other things) that fit appropriately. All my patterns have to be cut down, and it’s really difficult without all the right tools. If you can, get yourself a dress form cut to your size. That way, you can pin and play with fabric all day and not have to worry about fittings.

Until then: use an old bra as a pattern. Cut it up, lay it out either on tracing paper or OLD fabric and do a test run. Hopefully, you can work it and re-work it to get to a point where you can perfect your real swimsuit.

And, yes ma’am, you do need padding!!!!
