its a stigma society has put on women. There really isn’t much difference, but its the fact that the bra and thong are “intimates” and should only be shown in privacy. run around naked, see what they say then!

Once I went to this resort up in Canada- Blue Mountain. They have a nice pool and out door hot tubs so its cool because its snowy and your outside in a hot tub but anyway…
…when I went up there, I left my swimsuit…so That’s what I did. I wore bikini style panties- and boy shorts, but I wore my bra….no one said anything or looked at me funny- As a matter of fact I see it happen all the time.

Bathing suits have a different material. Bra and Thong well they are fabric not that swimming cloth and if your hot people reaction will be to look at you!
haha its because swimsuits are meant to be worn outside and bras and thongs are meant to be worn under your clothes. simple as that. have you also noticed how speedos cover even less than boxers???

That’s a good question! And, sometimes a bra, especially on a woman with larger breasts, will look better that a swim suit top. Well-made bras are constructed to control and hold in place. I think one of the main differences is that swim suits are made of materials that are stronger and resistant to sun, water, sand, salt, chlorine, etc. If underwear is worn like a bathing suit it will be ruined pretty quickly. Now, to your main question~ yes, it skimpy bathing suits are okay, but walking around in your undies is not. Why is that? I don’t know except to say that bathing suits used to cover the entire body and over the years they have changed to cover less. Underwear has changed, too, but it is still underwear~ something we are expected to wear under clothes. We are not as free as a society as some of us would like to think. And does it matter? I don’t know, it’s interesting to think about, anyway.

Swimsuits made of light colors are often lined so that they don’t become transparent when wet.
The secret is to get some sets of underware that can pass as swimsuits, i.e. not lace or light colors that may go transparent when wet. Some of the better made stuff can be used for either without anybody noticing or commenting.
The trend for a lot of underwear to put large elastic waist bands with the makers name woven in makes it more difficult to pass the underware off as a swimsuit. This is very true for boys shorts that, if it were not for the waist band screaming JOCKEY all the way around would be about the same as their swimsuits.
Personally I think more people should be more self confident at the beach, and swim or sun in what ever they want.
Some swimming pools don’t want street cloths in the pool becuase they bring in dirt and lots of body sweat, so they want you to change into a CLEAN swimsuit before entering the pool. In some places they even expect you to take a shower first. This is to keep the water in the pool fresh and clean.
