I taught swimming for years and we always wore 2 or more bathing suits. We did it to try and keep our cores warmer, we would also lather ourselves with vaseline to try and keep warm.

That is weird. May be becuase they didn’t want to get soaking wet. it might be easier to dry that way.

Some people do this to keep EVERYTHING tight, so nothing is flopping. In swimming you are all about aerodynamics, that is why you either wear a swim cap or shave your head. Wearing 2 swim suits is just another way of doing this. Hope I helped! :)

If they were guys, they were probably wearing boxers and surf shorts. Some swimming trunks have an smaller inner layer to provide more support, but surf shorts don“t. Many guys wear boxers underneath to provide more support (or just because they feel more comfortable).

Sometimes it’ s because one suit is worn through , you may be able to see like their ***** , LOL etc etc . Also it might be for aerodynamics , the smoother the better .

They wear two suits for drag. Its a drag suit. So when you get in a meet you feel quicker and lighter. Also because they get see through and wear 2 for coverage to increase the lifespan of the suit. Swimmers spend hours a day in the pool and suits are very expensive. A worn suit is loose not tight, and it is not to keep warm, when you train you sweat like a pig. You may see some swimmers even males wearing pantyhose with the feet cut off. This is because they have shaved down and are wearing the pantyhose in preperation for the big meet. After a shave down you don’t want to feel the water until the big meet shaved. Some people shave down in order to make cuts to get into the big meet. Cut-a time you need to be faster than to enter. Usually a shave down is done during taper. Taper is when you let your muscles rebuild and you drop mad time for the big meet. Taper is only done once or twice a year.

    2 reasons:

    1. Swimsuits wear out – especially the really thin racing ones (lycra?). When wearing 2 one can rip and you’re still covered.

    2. Acts more or less like a dragsuit. If you’re being held back during practice, you will go faster at a race.

sometimes you have two suits that are worn out. You can’t wear one alone and still be g-rated and it would be a waste to keep buying new suits when you could just wear multiple semi-worn out suits

Ok, well we swimmers wear 2 or more swim suits to practice because when we go to competitions we can only wear one swim suit. So in practice the extra swim suits provide “drag.”

wearing two suits creates more drag, so you are pulling more in the water. people may wear two suits because they want to keep their suit in good shape.

I used to think this was weird until I found the reason of why some swimmers do it. It is to create extra drag for while you’re practicing, so that when you’re at a swim meet, and you wear only one, tight suit, you feel a lot faster.

its a drag suit, its usually cause one or both of the suits have holes in them
